Meet Emma Brice

Emma Brice (Mrs. B.) received her master’s degree in music education from the University of South Carolina in 2021. An SC native, Mrs. B. grew up singing in local choirs, playing in bands with her peers, and taking private music lessons. Her vast experiences in her own music education have shaped the way she teaches, influencing her to provide personalized instruction which motivates students according to their unique passions and learning styles. During her graduate and post-graduate education, she taught Music Play classes to children ages 0-4, studied the voice and pipe organ, and composed her thesis on playful, co-constructive music improvisation between elementary students. She began teaching elementary music to grades K-5 in 2017, and most recently taught at Venice Elementary. During her teaching time, Mrs. B. has taught ukulele classes, conducted school choirs, directed school musicals, and engaged diverse student communities in joyful music-making. She lives in Nokomis with her husband, Houston, and teaches lessons from their home. When she’s not making music, Mrs. B. enjoys visiting the beach, lounging with her two cats, and curling up with a good book.
